The first Insider Build of 2025, version 26360 for Windows Server, has been released, bringing enhanced security features including the Windows Defender Application Control for Business (WDAC). This new security layer aims to mitigate cyber threats by establishing a definitive list of authorized software, preventing potentially harmful applications—especially those associated with phishing and attacks—from being executed.
Microsoft has established a default policy for WDAC that users can easily implement on their servers using PowerShell commands alongside OSconfig, a security configuration platform.
Moreover, the Windows Server 26360 update introduces the Windows Admin Center (WAC), which is readily downloadable directly from the operating system through an in-app feature.
