4MLinux 46 arrives more than five months after 4MLinux 45, now combining the 4MServer edition into the main 4MLinux edition. This integration allows users to easily set up a very lightweight HTTP/FTP server utilizing technologies like BusyBox, Apache, MariaDB, PHP, Perl, Python, and Ruby without the need for a separate ISO download.
This version is powered by the Linux 6.6 LTS kernel and Mesa 24.0.4 graphics stack. New enhancements include support for RAW image files from digital cameras (CRW/CR2, NEF, RAF, DNG), handling of Windows Enhanced Metafiles (EMF), and inclusion of new applications like DVDAuthor, VCDImager, and qv4l2.
Additionally, there is improved support for vintage audio formats from Amiga, Commodore, and similar platforms. The 4MLinux GamePack downloadable package now features the classic GNU Go, and modern apps are supported through the newly implemented GTK 4 toolkit.
